2019 National Mini/MINI events

Maybe you hear that 2019 is the 60th anniversary of Mini.  While Minnesota United MINIs (M.U.M.) has great events throughout the year, there are many national events held at various locations.  Some will be doing special things for this anniversary year.

Some 2019 events are listed below.  Some M.U.M. members have participated in these events in the past.

MINIs ON The Dragon (MOTD) will be held May 1 to 5, 2019. MOTD started out as a simple get together to drive a stretch of road. This event is in part named after the legendary section of US 129 known as “The Dragon” which runs from North Carolina to Tennessee and has 318 curves in 11 miles. Now you can add 600 to 1000 fellow MINIacs and you have a great time. There are many drives and events in the breathtaking mountains of North Carolina on US 129 and other roads in the area. MINIs at The Glen will be held June 15, 2019. The event is held at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York.  The website at www.minisattheglen.com hasn’t been updated to reflect 2019 information yet but the date above is from the Facebook page.

Mini East Meet West 2019 will be held June 24 to 28, 2019 in Snowmass Village, Colorado.  For more details on this event, read the story at East meets West 2019.

MINIs In The Mountains (MITM) will be held on July 24 to 28 2019 in Salida, Colorado. Nestled in the Arkansas Valley of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in southern Colorado, at an elevation of 7,083 feet, amazing views and breathtaking drives are guaranteed in every direction. Nearby areas include The Royal Gorge and The Great Sand Dunes National Park. More information can be round at http://minisinthemountains.com

MINI on the Mack (MOTM) will be held August 3, 2019.  It is an event to break the Guinness World Record for the most Mini/MINI in a parade.  More information can be found at MINI on the Mack

MINIs in the Ozarks (MITO) doesn’t have a published date yet but the event is usually held in October. It takes place in Eureka Springs where hundreds of MINI motorists come together to enjoy all things MINI. There are many drives throughout the area. MINIs Slay the Sleeping Dragon is usually held in October. There isn’t any updated information for the 2019 event yet. Some runs on the Dragon (see above) but also other roads in the area.  The best bet for updated information is with the Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club at www.tarheelminis.org.
